Non woven wallpaper installation steps

After receiving the wallpaper, take it out from the original packaging, remove the sticker, and release the roll a bit. It shouldn´t be very tightly rolled up. It has to be in this state for at least 48 hours. During this time, the wallpaper will adapt to the new environmental and climatic conditions.  Check that the panels match. perfectly. This step is very important. Once installed, we won't be able to see if there are any errors on our part. After that, your wallpaper will be ready fo installation.

Step 1

Installation is best done together with someone- it´s easier and more fun that way.

You will need:

You will need:

  1. Flinzelin wallpaper glue.
  2. Paintbrush or roller for glue application.
  3. Slightly moist spong for removal of glue from wallpaper edges.
  4. A squegee and cutter knife;
  5. A brush, sandpaper or a metal spatule to remove dirt from the wall.
  6. A spirit level, ruler and a pencil.
  7. A step stool or step ladder.

Step 2

Prepare for the installation:

Panels are numbered and should be installed in the order they come.

Apply specific solvent-free adhesive for non-woven wallpaper using a wide brush or roller on a wall that has been previously cleaned of dust.

Always spread the product evenly in a thin layer.

The adhesive does not dry immediately, so you will have time to make corrections.

It is VERY important that the adhesive is solvent-free PVA to prevent damage to the pattern during installation.

Start with the first strip of wallpaper. Use a level to ensure the panels are straight.

Adhere the top part of the strip and gradually fix it from top to bottom and from the center to the sides, using a squeegee from side to side to ensure adhesion.

Leave a couple of inches / centimeters at the top, as walls and ceilings may not be perfectly straight.

Step 3

Continue in the same way with the remaining panels until the wall is complete, carefully matching the patterns of the paper, if applicable.

Use a squegee between the seams to ensure the paper adheres well and doesn't peel over time.

The panels should align flush with each other.

Step 4
In both the baseboard joint and around door and window frames, place a straight edge and run the utility knife over it to achieve a clean cut.

When you run your hand over, you will feel the gap.

Using the utility knife, make a cross-shaped cut over the hole, reaching all four corners.

Trim the excess paper with scissors.
